Humility is equivalent to submission to Allah. We should abandon all selfishness and pride in our human power, and stand humbled, meek, and submissive as servants of Allah above all else.
The following verses of the holy quran has explained the act of humility as; 1.Surah Al-Furqan 25:63 – The servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say words of peace. 2. Surah Al-A’raf 7:55 – Call upon your Lord with humility and in private. Verily, He does not love transgressors.
Also the hadith has explained as; ‘Iyad ibn Himar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah has revealed to me that you must be humble towards one another, so that no one oppresses another or boasts to another.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2865
We as humans, sometimes it does not feel okay when someone misbehave or spoke something that intimidate us, pride inside us will boil for the fact that we were on a right side. But I have decided that I will settle for this.
Curious what the last sentence means: “But I have decided that I will settle for this.”?
