Absolutely not. Unless all your memories are terrible ones. Many of mine are painful but so many more are wonderful. Yes, I am sad that they are no longer … that so many of the people I remember are dead & gone. But I wouldn’t want NOT to remember. As I age, the memory of the supple young dancer I once was brings me joy & sorrow … joy that I was once so celebrated & that I could make so many people happy with my talent & sorrow that I am no longer able to move in such a way. But I wouldn’t want to forget those days, or the days I spent as a child at my grandparents, or any day at all. May the Lord allow me to remember always.
